Orchestra in Residence
Chamber Orchestra Anglia - Orchestra-in-residence at the University of East Anglia
In September 2007 Chamber Orchestra Anglia became the orchestra-in-residence at the University of East Anglia, a relationship that evolved from the emerging educational environment of modern universities where ‘practice as research’, ‘knowledge transfer’ and ‘enterprise’ are more than just concepts.
Creativity and interdisciplinary work are now essential components of higher education and are enhanced by UEA’s ‘Beacon for Public Engagement Status’, which offers the opportunity for UEA School of Music and Chamber Orchestra Anglia to develop a higher profile and expand their performance and education programmes.
The residency agreement, which is now in its second year, not only builds on existing links between UEA School of Music and Chamber Orchestra Anglia but also establishes new ambitions and projects. The three principal strands of the residency activities, teaching, research and education and outreach, are in progress and the future of the residency is full of promise.
As the orchestra-in-residence at the University of East Anglia, Chamber Orchestra Anglia is dedicated to ensuring the success of all the residency aims.
